Hegedorn’s Seafood Department

I have been involved with buying and selling and cooking seafood for 30 years. I have gained a great deal of insight as to the quality of some of today’s favorite “catches”. Since I came to Hegedorn’s seven years ago I have learned what my customers like and I think have tuned them on to some wonderful new varieties of fish from around the world. I write a “Recipe of the Week” each week (it’s not always a fish recipe), but we do keep a file of past recipes on hand on top of our counter, and I’m always there and love to help and answer your cooking questions.

Our prices are very competitive on our great assortment of seafood. Our customers favorite catches, usually always available, include Boneless and Skinless Grouper Fillets, Boneless and Skinless Wild Caught (not farm raised) Salmon Fillets, Wild Caught Boneless and Skinless Icelandic Cod Fillets and a new fish in town…Barramundi Fillets (a delicious, mild flavor, rich texture Australian Sea Bass), it’s superb!

We also feature Jumbo Dry Sea Scallops, FRESH from Cape Cod Mass, great on the grill, perfect for pan-searing.

You’ll find a terrific variety of freshly cooked seafood too, for those of you on your home from work, not wanting to turn on the grill or the oven. Baked Salmon with herbs and olive oil, Shrimp and Scallop Stuffed Sole, Golden Fried Battered Haddock or Shrimp or Scallops and much more are all ready for you to take home, reheat and eat and enjoy.

The busiest shelf in our Seafood Service Case probably belongs to our fresh made bisques and chowders! Our Famous Creamy Seafood Chowder is a standard favorite. Joining it might be some of my Fresh Crab Bisque, or Shrimp and Roasted Corn Chowder or my favorite… my Cioppino San Francisco (a loaded seafood stew in a zesty tomato basil broth).
